Exploring Dakar’s Green Lung

The second day of the workshop took place at the Hann Forest and Zoological Park, an emblematic site of urban biodiversity and conservation, established in 1903.
Participants explored the crucial role of urban forests in carbon sequestration, the preservation of local flora and fauna, and the well-being of urban populations.

As part of a hands-on environmental action, YAAC contributed to the park’s upkeep by donating four waste collection bins of 240 liters each, supporting sustainable waste management and the cleanliness of the site.

This activity combined learning, engagement, and impact, reminding everyone that protecting urban green spaces means investing in the health and resilience of our cities.
